So, any of y'all coming to Dragon Con and need a place to stay? I have a double at the Hyatt and need one or two more people. No one wants to stay with me as I guess I suck. Really looking for someone I know. I tried a stranger I found on the Dragon Com a few years ago and never got paid for the room.

I keep saying I need a fandom but I can't manage to focus on anything. I really do need a hobby. I can't do this saving the world crap 24/7. It's exhausting.

I'm moderately employed at the moment 20-30 hours a week and have discovered I actually hate political science. As this is my major, that is a problem.
Still unemployed. Trying the school full time thing but having trouble making rent and all that fun stuff. Lost my insurance. Got student insurance and discovered it doesn't cover my Narcolepsy at all. Which is pretty bad.
My grandfather's cancer is out of remission. Again with the bad. I wish I had something positive to say. But I don't.
Where is fandom these days? Hell, what fandoms are around now? Is anyone reading this?
Almost 5 weeks later. I have qualified for 19 weeks of unemployment. I can barely find any jobs to apply for. I have been uninsured since the 1st and have yet to get anything in the mail about COBRA. I was promised letters of recommendation and never got them.
I really want a part time job so I can go to school full time. Not getting very far with that. I got work as a search engine result rater but not sure how steady that will be.

Was informed at 5pm yesterday that I was no longer employed, effective immediately. Lay off due to the economy or whatever. But hey, take your time cleaning out your desk.

Those who have attended in the past know that if you bought a membership and couldn't attend, you could transfer it to someone else and they would just have to pay a $20 transfer fee at the door.
They aren't doing that anymore. No, the fee didn't go up. Badges are now NON-TRANSFERABLE. Period. D*C has not publicized this despite LJ and social media posts about 2013 badges being on sale.
i DON'T have a huge issue with badges now being non-transferable. That's the case at most cons including SDCC. I just think they need to have been transparency since this is a really BIG change in policy.
ALSO, for this those looking for a 2013 host hotel room. The Hilton is sold out. Looks like the Hyatt reservations will open 10am on October 2nd. Using passkey again. Marriott opens reservations October 10th at 9am. They are charging a non-refundable one-night deposit this year. The name on the reservation must match the name on whatever card you use to pay for the room and no name changes will be allowed, according to the flyers posted at their front desk this year.
Yes, I am booking my room at the Marriott if it kills me.
My digital camera committed suicide so all pics were taken with the video camera. You can tell. New digital camera is on the christas list. Yes, I am aware I am Jewish.

I HATE MONDAY at the con. It is very sad inducing. The awesome nicole_anell is on a plane home.
Katee left yesterday but Jamie, James, Michael and Richard Hatch were on the panel. We got seats in front row center. :) I think my digital camera finally committed suicide. Oddly, my old camera did that the last time Michael was here. I got a bunch of video from all the BSG panels.
This year I discovered the concept of disability services lines which is great since the usual lines render me non-fuctional. (I stood in the regular line of Friday and was a nice mess the whole panel. Had to leave and go outside at one point)
Katee looked great. I did not get autograph this year. I got Trucco to sign my Revelations script which he quite liked. I felt dumb talking to him since I am a year behind on everyone's work and haven't seen season 2 of BL.
In other news, last Weds the cat started peeing blood. Rushed her to the vet. She has bladder stones. They were ready to release her that day but we discussed my being gone for 5 days and felt boarding her was a better idea. They are giving her special food which will hopefully dissolve them. If not, we talk surgery.
I called Friday as I was budgeting how much I had to spend this weekend and asked what my total vet bill would be. Them: 850 Me: DOLLARS??
